Dodgers Upcoming Whitehouse Visit!

Written By Julissa Diaz

On November 1, 2025, the city of Los Angeles and Dodger fans alike were able to celebrate yet another win in the World Series. As tradition goes, the team who won the World Series would visit the White House the following year. However, debates online sparked about whether or not the Los Angeles Dodgers should visit the White House. The manager of the Dodgers, Dave Roberts said, “For me, it doesn’t matter who is in the office, I’m going to go to the White House. I’ve never tried to be political For me, I am going to continue to try to do what tradition says and not try to make political statements, because I am not a politician.” People online held discussions on Doc’s statement. A user on Reddit commented “Maybe someone can ask Dave Roberts if he thinks that posting memes depicting the Obamas as apes during Black History Month is showing "respect for the highest office."

I am asking for the Dodgers to look at this situation as humans rather than players. I am not a politician. I am just a high school student who will be graduating next year. That doesn’t stop me from seeing past tradition, so that shouldn’t stop a baseball manager from seeing the injustices coming from the “highest office.”

I want to ask the readers, what would you do if you were Dave Roberts?
